Framing Almost Done

A lot has changed since our last post – framing is about 98% complete.  These pictures were both taken on the same afternoon.  Beautiful clear skies to the west, storms brewing in the east.

Just a few more sheets of sheathing on the roof and a few wall changes inside and we’ll be ready to begin window installation!  You can see them stacked up inside the nook in the picture above.   Here’s a close up:

They just got here today.  It’s pretty exciting to see something delivered besides just wood!

After window installation they’ll keep working on the roof with shingles getting delivered pretty soon.  Then interior systems start going in:  heating, venting, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and electrical.

Our tentative granite choice for the bathrooms will be at the granite warehouse on Friday.  Assuming we like the slabs that come in, that selection will be done … stay tuned!

  1. The master bedroom faces mostly west, so we’ll have a great view of the mountains. Looking at the rear elevation of the house, its windows are the bay bump out on the right corner.
